To get the new year of to a great start, we've posted something a little special for all you 1970's F1 fans. We've created several new avi files based on footage shot on-board cars during the 1978 F1 season.
Whilst none are on-board the P34 (it didn't race in 1978) there are a few with Patrick Depailler driving the 008 (the P34's successor) so there is a connection and that's a good enough excuse for us to share this great footage with you. Enjoy - Jay
Happy New Year Everyone . ..
As promised I spent most of the xmas break reading up on the history of this amazing car and have finally finished the history section for the site. I'm quite happy with the result, and I believe it to be the most concise version available on the internet but if there is anything you think I've missed out, don't agree with or not made clear let me know and I'll correct it.
Special thanks to Ari for proof reading it and correcting a few historical inaccuracies.
I've also added another gallery to the Pictures section and made some cosmetic changes to the overall site - Jay
There is a rumour that the Tyrrell P34 might be included in the 1977 mod currently in development by the SBDT team.
If you don't know what I'm talking about then check out the full 1977 Mod post on the Simbin Forum, These guys are the best motor sport mod'ers on the PC Racing scene, if you like GT racing then I can fully recommend their recently launched GT Racing 2002 mod which is by far the best GT Car simulation available on the PC.
The Picture on the right is an early shot of the P34 3D Model which Perran tells me is only 30% complete - (Click on the Picture to link directly to Perran's post) The possibility that we might be able to drive this great piece of F1 history against the likes of the Ferrari 312 and Lotus 78 is truly wonderful, hopefully it wont suffer the problems with the front tyres that the original did :-) Jay
Hello everyone, I've only just started to put this site together so there is not too much to see just yet. The site was started in response to the interest shown by people to a small DivX video we put together which showed the Tyrrell P34 in action in Africa and Monaco during the 1977 F1 Season.
This site will primarily focus on the P34 however, I hope that we will be able to cover the March and Williams machines in the future, we have access to a large library of motor sports information including books, videos and photographs so we'll see how things go. In response to the success of the P34 video, I also hope to be putting up some more on-board footage from the late 70's although this
wont necessary have been filmed on-board these radical machines.
Thanks for checking up on the site and be sure to come back soon and view the sites progress, if there is anything you would like to see, or if you would like to contribute to the site then please contact us using email button on the menu. Cheers - Jay
