Well It's official ..
I had the pleasure of talking to Martin Stretton this week who sadly confirmed that he would not be driving Simon Bull's P34 in the 2003 TGP season, he did however confirm that Piero Ratti's car would be contesting and will be driven by Mauro Pane.
Its a shame that we wont be seeing two P34's battle it out but there is always next year !
There is the chance that we will be at the first TGP race in Jarama where we hope to get an exclusive interview with the team and photos of the car.
I keep you posted on how that develops - Jay
I finally got the Driver Profiles started, and who else better to start with than Patrick Depailler, the master of the Six Wheel monster. A special mention goes to my friend Mik who spent a lot of time researching the P34 drivers and putting the info together for me.
The Profiles on Jody Scheckter and Ronnie Petterson will follow soon ( I Promise), I should also have another video clip ready sometime this week.
Talking of video clips, I've been looking at the quality of them, while they are quite good, I can get them better but at the cost of a bigger download, I'd like to know what people think on that, do you want more quality or less ?, please use the forum for feed-back on this. I've got a secret project in development (Very P34 related) and I need your feed back on this subject.
Bye for Now - Jay
Perran and all the guys at SBDT are progressing nicely with the 1977 F1 Legends mod.
This mod is going to be absolutely stunning, in addition to being able to drive the P34 six wheeler they are also hard at work recreating some of the great race tracks from the 1977 season :-)
Bad News .. thanks to Alex, its been brought to my attention that the new 1976 videos on the site wont play using the DivX 5.0.2 codec. Unfortunately we just upgraded all our video production PC's to DivX 5.0.3 so I apologise to all of you. Unfortunately the only way to play them is to update your DivX codec to the latest version (click on the logo) sorry...
Good News .. To make up for the inconvenience I've posted a new video clip taken from the ITV documentary of Ken Tyrrell, Its a great little montage of P34 1976 moments, download it on the Video Page.
Enjoy - Jay
I know this is slightly off subject but as we get a lot of retro F1 fans here I thought I'd mention that I'm helping to sell a piece of Genuine F1 History, this is one of Keke Rosberg's race helmets from his days at Williams F1 (1982-1985).
The helmet is up for auction on E-bay, please click here or on the picture to link directly to the item.
Happy Bidding - Jay (Auction now Finished 26/02/03)
